| The theme of "I Have A Dream" was to treat every man equally. Martin Luther King Jr. felt we all have rights and freedoms. "The Gettysburg Address" theme was many soldiers sacrificed their lives to help the nation become strong. They fought to ensure citizens freedom and equality.
The two speeches have a similar theme. They both have a messages about freedoms that were given by the four fathers, in the beginning of the nation. In "The Gettysburg Address" Lincoln was trying to unify the nation through his words. On the other hand, Martin Luther King Jr. was concerned about freedom and equality of all citizens.
